Q: How do I install the EMS Client?

A: Please click here for instructions to install EMS on your computer. Mac users, please read the next question below for specific guidance.

Q: I’m a Mac user, how can I install the EMS Client?

A: Unfortunately, the EMS Client is a Windows-only application. We have requested the vendor provide a native Mac version. Here are your immediate options depending on when you purchased your Mac:

  • If you purchased your Mac 2021 or later (i.e. M1 based Macs), please contact IS to request a virtual desktop (i.e. a cloud-based Windows machine you can log in to).
  • For Macs 2020 and older (i.e. Intel based Macs), please follow the instructions on WFU IS Software site (log in required) to install VMware Fusion. If you have difficulties with the instructions, please contact IS.

After you have access to Windows, you can follow the usually instructions to install EMS within Windows.

Q: I’m a new space manager, how do I request an account?

A: Please contact your department’s EMS Advisory Team Member. If you have difficulty determining your Advisory Team Member contact email DeaconSpace Help for assistance.

If you need space manager training or additional assistance, contact your department’s EMS Advisory Team Member. If you have difficulty determining your Advisory Team Member contact email DeaconSpace Help for assistance.

Q: My EMS client is locked up and makes a sound whenever I try to click on anything in the EMS window. 🔗️

A: Because your EMS Client is making a sound, it’s very likely that there’s an EMS window hidden off-screen (i.e., your EMS client isn’t totally locked up). To fix this problem, press the Esc key four times. Now, you should be able to select other windows. To prevent from happening again immediately, click Settings > Reset Window Coordinates > OK. Unfortunately, this issue has been recognized by the software vendor, but there is no permanent solution. This bug usually occurs when you switch from using a multi-monitor environment (e.g. a docking station) to just your laptop’s screen. For additional assistance, please contact your department’s EMS Advisory Team Member.
